Effects of Corner Modification on the Wind-Induced Responses of High-Rise Buildings

Aerodynamic optimization of building geometry has received significant attention in the design community. In this paper, a process with high-frequency force balance (HFFB) technique to determine most effective mitigation measure and synchronized pressure integration (SPI) verify effect is developed for aerodynamic high-rise buildings. Then, applied 318 m-tall building. Tests show that wind on will not be symmetrical about azimuth due interfering effect. Among four modifications, model 10% roundness radius width ratio best along Furthermore, mean extreme overturning moments obtained by SPI HFFB tests almost coincided acceptable discrepancy.
